PFC Levski is donating €4,000 in support of the recovery of Svetoslav Dimitrov following severe burns sustained during the Sakar wildfires in 2024.
The donation is provided through the internal fund of the first team. By decision of the coaching staff and players, the funds will continue to be directed toward various causes, including initiatives related to burn treatment and support for specialized centers in the country.

Recovery after burns. Current stage of treatment
The support comes at a stage when Svetoslav’s recovery is already underway and requires consistent medical care.
Since September 2025, Regenics Medical has been working with Svetoslav on a recovery process led by Dr. Nikolay Tsaribashev. The approach is tailored to his condition and the different stages of healing. Initial results are already visible.
The treatment focuses on reducing the effects of scarring and the related functional impairments. These include inflammation, redness, pain, tissue hardening, and limited range of motion. The goal is gradual restoration of the skin and its function.
There is now clear progress. Inflammation has decreased. The tissues have softened. Range of motion has improved, and discomfort has been reduced.
So far, this phase of treatment has been fully supported by Dr. Tsaribashev and Regenics Medical. Further stages lie ahead and will require continued care and additional resources.
Burn treatment and the need for long-term support
In cases of severe burns, the initial medical intervention is only the beginning. Recovery requires long-term work to restore tissue and continuous monitoring over time.
In our practice, we see that such cases raise a broader question about the need for sustainable support for burn centers and the development of treatment capabilities in Bulgaria.
In this context, Levski’s donation is significant not only for this individual case, but also as a signal toward a larger cause related to the care of patients with severe burns.
